How does this work?

What is velocity?
Velocity is the amount of work — usually in story points — your team completes per sprint. It's the single most useful number for forecasting how long the rest of the backlog will take.
How is the forecast calculated?
We project the next three sprints using the average completed velocity from your history, with a confidence band based on the standard deviation. More history means a tighter band.
How many sprints should I include?
Three is the minimum for a meaningful average. Six to ten gives the cleanest signal — enough history to spot trends without dragging in stale data from a different team shape.
Does this save my data?
No. Everything runs in your browser. Refresh the page and the data is gone — close the tab to discard. If you want it persisted (and a real-time chart) sign up for SprintFlint.
